Chiora Inn is approximately a 3.5-4 hour drive from Tbilisi via Sachkhere. You can rent a car, hire a private transfer, or take a marshrutka (minibus) to Oni, where there are plenty of taxis available to take you the rest of the way to Chiora village.
Chiora Inn is open from mid-June to September. This is the best time to experience upper Racha, with warm weather perfect for hiking, wildflower meadows, and outdoor dining. Early September brings the beginning of fall colors and the grape harvest season.
The area offers incredible hiking through alpine meadows and mountain trails, visits to ancient churches and fortresses, and stunning natural scenery throughout upper Racha. The region is also Georgia's premier wine area, famous for Khvanchkara, and the local cuisine is exceptional. We provide guests with a detailed activities map of the surrounding area.
Yes, we recommend booking in advance, especially during summer months (June-August) when Racha is most popular. Chiora Inn has only 8 rooms, so availability is limited. You can book directly through our Booking.com listing or contact us by email or phone.
Our staff mostly speaks Georgian, but we usually have someone available who can help out in Russian and English.
Absolutely. The inn is family-run and very welcoming to children. We have a small slide for kids, and the village setting is safe and peaceful with plenty of open space to explore. We're often full of families with children, so your little ones will likely have playmates.
Room rates range from 70-100 EUR per night. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available at our on-site restaurant for an additional cost, featuring homemade Georgian dishes prepared with local ingredients. Free parking is available for all guests.
There is no Wi-Fi at Chiora Inn. Mobile signal varies by carrier: Magti works best in the area, while Silknet does not work at all. We recommend downloading offline maps before arriving if you plan to hike in the surrounding mountains.
