The short version
Summer (June–September)
This is Racha at its best — and our whole season. Green valleys, open hiking, wildflower meadows, and comfortable temperatures by day. Early September brings the first hints of autumn colour and the start of the grape harvest. It's also the only window when the roads into upper Racha are reliably clear.
What to pack
- Layers — warm days, genuinely cool evenings at 1,400 m.
- A rain shell; mountain weather shifts quickly.
- Sturdy shoes for walking and trails.
- Sun protection — the sun is strong at altitude.
Why we close in winter
From October the weather turns and the mountain roads become difficult, so we close for the season. We reopen each June when conditions allow — it's an honest trade-off for being this high in the mountains.
Plan around the trails
If hiking is your reason to come, the same window applies — see our guide to hiking in Racha for routes, and how to get here to plan the journey.
Time your trip right
Our season is short — mid-June to September. See our rooms and book direct, or email and we'll help you pick your dates.
